This week we turn our spotlight on Blair Adams at DEQ’s Laboratory in Hillsboro. Blair serves on DEQ’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and the Wellness Committee in addition to her regular duties. She also just won Oregon’s Public Service Award for 2023 in recognition of her efforts her at the agency.
For our readers, tell us a bit about what you do.
As an Executive Assistant I provide my administrator with the support she needs to perform her job well. I also support the lab with projects and outreach to the rest of the agency. As the New Employee Onboarding Mentor, I work hard to make sure new hires get a consistent introduction to working at DEQ.
What is your favorite part about working for DEQ?
“I work with some amazing people who can turn everyday work things into fun memories. I love connecting with the folks I build community with, whether it is on the committees I serve on, my knitting pod, or my labbies.”
It’s not all about the job. We like to ask a couple of fun questions too. We asked Blair, if you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Currently I would love a trip to Disneyland but that might just be the churro cravings.
[good call – churros are awesome!]
We think you’re pretty super as you are, but if you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Instant teleportation would be the best thing ever.
[I totally agree!]
Thanks Blair! We congratulate you on the aware and we’re glad to have you at DEQ.
