Built Environment Specialist, Rita Haberman, receives Women of Vision award

Rita Haberman, a Built Environment Specialist in the Materials Management Program, was recently awarded the Women of Vision Award from the Daily Journal of Commerce. The Women of Vision award recognizes women in the region who are shaping the built environment with their technical skill, leadership, mentoring, community involvement and the creation of opportunities for the future generation of women in the industries.

By connecting policy with people, and climate action with community benefit, Rita is driving meaningful, systemic change—laying the groundwork for a built environment that truly serves all Oregonians.

From her nomination: “Rita is a pioneer in sustainable building whose career spans more than two decades of tireless advocacy, innovation, and impact. Her influence reaches across disciplines and career stages. It is reflected in the diverse group of women who have come together to nominate her—peers, collaborators, supervisors, and those she has mentored—all of whom have been shaped by Rita’s thoughtful leadership, generosity of spirit, and deep commitment to driving meaningful change, not to mention her fantastic sense of humor, contagious laughter, and positive energy. By connecting policy with people, and climate action with community benefit, Rita is driving meaningful, systemic change—laying the groundwork for a built environment that truly serves all Oregonians.”

Rita received her award at a ceremony in Portland, Oregon, alongside forty-two other honorees.
